Senior Research Analyst – Market Ratings

Job Description and Responsibilities:

A vacancy exists in the Capital Markets Infrastructure Group for a Senior Research Analyst.

The job involves undertaking research, analysis and risk assessments relating to custody and settlement activities of market/CSD infrastructure.The candidate would be responsible for a group of markets. It requires the applicant to research and understand the respective markets and CSDs that operate in those markets. The ability to conduct risk analysis of the CSDs according to Thomas Murray methodologies will be essential.

The applicant will need to develop a 'client' relationship with the CSDs that he/she is responsible for. The specific outputs will include the updating and maintenance of the market profiles and the risk reports on the CSDs and undertaking on-site public ratings for specific CSDs. The public rating work will require the candidate to occasionally travel abroad for periods of up to two weeks to conduct in-depth reviews of CSDs.

Candidate Profile:

The applicant should have a good university degree and a number of years of relevant experience that is applicable to undertaking risk analysis of capital market infrastructure. The experience would be gained from working in a CSD, clearing house or a custodian bank. The applicant should be familiar with settlement risk analysis work. The applicant will need to be a self-starter who can work as an integral member of a team. It would also be an advantage to be able to speak and have an understanding of other languages, especially Spanish.
